Yahoo Says Optimising Sites Is Crucial for Effective Marketing

A recent survey undertaken by Yahoo and conducted by Appetite over the last five months has showed that almost a quarter of respondents surveyed (22%) regularly use their mobiles, TVs and PCs to access content simultaneously.

The research also found that 44% of UK mobile internet users blamed brands for a poor experience rather than the mobile network, stressing the need for brands who wish to engage with users to consider seriously the quality of their presence on mobile.

According to Yahoo, the findings highlight the fact that brands need to consider all platforms if their marketing campaigns are to drive consumer awareness and ward off negative public perception.

Patrick Hourihan, Head of UK Trade Research at Yahoo said, "Optimising sites is the first golden rule of mobile."

The company have also been reviewing both their partnerships and network performance this year, in line with keeping users engaged as well as developing the reliability and reach of their brand in the eyes of consumers.
