Yahoo Adds New Travel Service for European Market
US company Yahoo will now be offering visitors the ability to search for and book holidays through Expedia on their website travel pages. The two signed this deal to cover leading European markets.
UK MD and VP of Sales at Yahoo, Mark Rabe, said, "Travel is a cornerstone product for our users and Expedia helps us enhance the experience via greater functionality. Ultimately, this supports our ambition to be the centre of users' online lives."
Visitors to the Yahoo site will be able to use the new co-branded search tool to receive and view updated deals offered by travel company Expedia based on the terms they type in. This service is now available at uk.travel.yahoo.com.
Traffic to Yahoo's travel pages has grown by an impressive 115% between May and June this year. This latest deal with Expedia is part of a focussed strategy of increasing sponsorship and advertising revenues through new partnerships that boost their editorial content.
