Thomson Launches Adult-Only Travel
Thomson has launched a new brand of worldwide holiday resorts to target adult demand for 100% child-free destinations - they claim to be the first mainstream travel company to do so.
The new Thomson Couples has been created largely in response to research findings, which discovered that more than three quarters (79%) of adults admit their holidays have been negatively impacted by other people's children and more than a third who claim "hell is other people's children on holiday".
Head of product development at Thomson, Luke Gaskins, commented: "Thomson Couples is part of the company's commitment to designing holidays around the differing needs of its customers... Family holidays remain incredibly important to Thomson, however we cannot ignore the fact that there has been growing customer demand for adult-only resorts that provide parents with the chance to relax and rejuvenate."
From this summer, Thomson will offer 19 exclusive 4 or 5 star hotels in destinations including the Algarve, Crete and Mexico. Their Thomson Premier Collection packages will also include additional perks such as increased luggage allowance and priority transfers.
Thomson Couples will aim to target the younger to middle aged market segment, while its existing Thomson Gold proposition is aimed at older travellers aged over 50.
