Survey Reveals Most Popular UK Email Marketers
The survey of 1000 UK consumers carried out by the IAB and iCD has shown that Tesco, Amazon and Marks & Spencer are the most popular email marketers.
A quarter of those surveyed rated these three companies as those they would most like to receive emails from; describing simplicity and ease of navigation as top qualities that make marketing emails appealing.
66% of the consumers who took part in the research said they like to receive emails from brands offering discounts or promotions, and 70% found these subjects most likely to cause them to open an email.
A total of 52% of the respondents said they enjoy receiving emails relating to services and products they regularly buy and 60% use email to keep in touch with and receive information from favoured brands.
CEO of the IAB UK, Guy Phillipson, commented, "We know email is still an important part of people's daily lives, but this research shows that as online evolves into a more multi-tasking experience, a simple, strong promotion offering something of real value is what gets the best response."
