Sky Sports Rolls Out Multi-Platform Marketing for New Web and Mobile TV Service

Sky Sports has unveiled its first cross-platform media campaign to promote the new web/mobile TV service called Sky Go.

This follows BSkyB's announcement last month that it will be replacing its Sky Player and Sky Mobile TV services with a combined web and mobile TV services under the Sky Go brand.

The campaign will involve online, TV, print and outdoor channels, as well as video ads which will run on the Sky Sports Facebook page. Football player Peter Crouch and rapper Dizzee Rascal have been chosen to front the promotion.

SkyGo will enable TV subscribers to access live and on-demand content from its five Sky Sports channels, ESPN and SkyNews. The service will also be available via iPhones, iPads and laptops for no extra cost to their subscription. Further channels are due to be introduced over the coming year.

In addition, Sky is also planning to use public Wi-Fi network The Cloud, which it acquired earlier this year, to support Sky Go - subscribers will thus be able to access the service from locations such as hotels and airports.

The campaign was developed by creative agency Brothers & Sisters and media agency MediaCom.
