New Media Age Becomes Latest Publisher to Drop Print for Digital

Marketing news and information publisher new media age has become the latest content title to announce it will go digital-only. This week's print issue will be their last.

The company, originally launched in June 1995, will focus on expanding their nma.co.uk website and other digital channels such as mobile and tablet apps as well as email alerts.

The nma site published the following customer announcement: "We believe that by concentrating on just digital we can improve our information service to you, ensuring we can provide better in-depth coverage of new media developments as they happen. Over the coming months we'll be introducing a number of digital services to subscribers, including a subscriber-only email service, a revamped mobile site and an iPad app."

The increasing consumer demand for online news consumption has seen other popular titles and publishers turning to a digital-focused strategy recently.

Last week, Guardian News & Media announced it will adopt a "digital first" strategy after measuring a large rise in online audiences. They expect this move to help their digital revenues double to nearly £100m by 2015.

In addition, A&N Media announced last month that Mail Online will expand its app strategy following a growth in mobile audience of 5.7m in one year.
