Major Waitrose Website Overhaul to Offer Improved Online Service

The Waitrose Deliver website is now undergoing a £10 million overhaul with the aim of rapidly expanding the food giant's online sales over the next decade.

Waitrose Deliver will be rebranded as - the revamped website will be launched next month.

Mark Price, Waitrose MD, commented: "This investment in our online platform will dramatically enhance the customer experience so that shoppers receive the unrivalled standards of service and the personal touch they associate with our branches."

Changes include a quicker and easier process for customers ordering groceries, new services such as click-and-collect as well as Waitrose Entertaining, plus a personal requests feature to allow such orders as thicker slices of meat from the delicatessen. Waitrose has also extended the number of available delivery slots at times when demand is high, such as weekends.

The company is set to ramp up their online offering significantly. Until last year, Waitrose was unable to deliver shopping to homes inside the M25 due to a supply agreement with Ocado. A new ten-year deal which was finalised last May now allows Waitrose to extend its delivery service into London from the summer.
