Lynx Releases Tongue in Cheek Apology for Banned Ads
In response to their recent ad campaign that was banned by the Advertising Standards Authority, Lynx has released a cheeky online video apology.
The video, which the brand hopes will go viral, features glamour model Lucy Pinder (who took part in the banned ads).
This time, she is fully clothed, complete with a long sleeved woolly jumper. She is seen very tongue in cheek returning props used in the original Lynx ad, including cheerleader pom poms and a monkey toy.
Ms Pinder then goes on to apologise for any offence caused by the online Lynx ad, while a breaking news style ticker tape runs across the bottom stating: "Lynx apologises for any offence caused".
The apology video was created by ad agency TMW, which also produced the original online ad campaign.
Following complaints, the ASA banned the Lynx outdoor ad showing a woman with her bikini top undone as well as the series of online ads featuring Pinder for 'objectifying women' and 'irresponsibly using material on media that could be viewed by children'.
