Financial Times Expands Global Economic Reporting With Tilt Website Launch
The Financial Times has launched a niche membership news site called FT Tilt this morning. The new service aims at providing premium content to a professional audience that is focussed on the general world economy rather than just New York or London activity.
The Tilt website will give users access to news, insight and in-depth analysis on a tiered membership structure to create to an environment that is most conducive to sharing information and research.
Editor-in-chief of FT Tilt, Paul Murphy, commented, "Recent years have seen economic power shift - or tilt - south and east. This trend is accelerating rather than diminishing and we see strong demand from our core professional readers for increasingly granular news and insight in markets beyond the developed G3 economies. The service will connect the dots across the emerging world to present a holistic view of this vibrant and increasingly central story."
Tilt has opened bureaus in Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and London, from where it will report on Eastern Europe, Russia and Africa. It has also opened a bureau in Sao Paulo to cover Latin America.
