Facebook Marks 6 Years with Home Page Makeover
To commemorate its 6th birthday, social network giant Facebook has unveiled a relaunch of its home page. The new look and improvements are designed to make content such as photos, games and applications easier to discover, which in turn encourages their 400 million users to access these parts of the site more frequently.
The Facebook home page has also undergone changes to the top menu bar and to a sidebar which now gives more prominence to content, games and applications.
Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, said, "To celebrate six years of Facebook and the 400m people on the service, we're doing what we like doing most: building and launching products for people,"
He announced today, "Tonight we'll host a celebration at Facebook headquarters, and we'll release a handful of new things that will improve people's Facebook experience, including a couple that people have requested a lot."
The Facebook social networking site has seen tremendous growth in popularity since its launch 6 years ago, and does not show signs of slowing down in its drive to dominate the market.
