Dating Site MySingleFriend Launches Ad-funded TV Show Online

Website service MySingleFriend.com has previously used the YouTube channel to provide light-hearted video clips offering dating and relationship advice, but this is its first sponsorship move in its strategy for brand building.

The programme will be called Olly Smith's Drink Tank and will help novices understand more about wine in ten episodes that last around three minutes each. It is fronted by the BBC Saturday Kitchen's wine expert and created by ChannelFlip, which specialises in content creation to help build brands.

The wine programme idea sprang from a survey MySingleFriend conducted among its members, which showed that 77% believe that wine experts are more intelligent and sexier than those who have poor knowledge about wine.

Drink Tank is being seeded for free viewing on Dailymail.co.uk, as well as iTunes, YouTube and MySingleFriend.com.

MySingleFriend was founded by TV presenter Sarah Beeny, with the aim of removing the stigma of online dating.
